Call The Sabbath A Delight
ISBN: 9781800404984Walter Chantry is an author who has consistently put his finger on the particular weaknesses and failures of the contemporary church. In his books we hear echoes of the prophetic insights and warnings which run through Scripture. Call the Sabbath a Delight is no exception. Its title indicates the burden of its message. A startling transformation has taken place in the way Christians approach the Lord's Day.
While Walter Chantry does not flinch from stressing that the effects of this have been disastrous-morally and socially, as well as spiritually-his burden is not morally negative. His concern is to show why and how the Lord's Day is meant to be one of joy and blessing for God's people. He succeeds in a remarkable way.
Call the Sabbath a Delight is written with a deep pastoral concern. It is a very important book for all Christians to read.
