Book Description:

Francis is a confused and misguided boy who's headed for trouble. He draws his friend Ram, an immigrant from India, into his mischief, and he even joins a gang of no-good ruffians. Meanness and fighting flow from his life.

But when Francis' mom is sent away to recover her health, Francis goes to live with a Christian family. Things begin to change - but can it be true that 'God is love'? When Francis discovers a bubbling wellspring nearby, he learns that if a spring is fouled, it can never be the river of life that God intends.

Recommended for ages 9 to 12.
