Paul den Butter, born in 1938, entered the ministry in 1964 serving two congregations of the Christelijke Gereformeerde Kerken in the Netherlands. He was called to serve in the Free Reformed Churches in Ontario, Canada where he was a pastor from 1975 to 1982. After that he returned to the Netherlands and served a number of churches until he retired in 2005 with emeritus status in the CGKN. He is using the years of his retirement as enabled to write books of a mainly exegetical nature.
