Book Description:

In his preface Dr Eryl Davies states that his initial idea was to write two books one at a popular level about the Bala ministers' conference and another on a more academic level about the influence on Dr Lloyd Jones on Evangelicals in Wales. Dr Davies has achieved the difficult task of cramming two books into one!

The first 300 pages of the book tell the story of conference:
Part One: The background story
Part Two: The early years (1955-1961)
Part Three: Turbulence, questions and progress (1962-1978)
Part Four: Growth, evangelism and revival (1979-2009)
Part Five: Concluding the story (2010-2014)
Part Six: Conclusion and Assessment

The final 80 pages contains 15 sets of notes on Lloyd Jones' addresses at the conference.

Endorsements:

"…one of the annual highlights in the life and ministry of Dr. D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones was the Ministers' Conference which was held for much of that period in Bala…We are indebted to Dr. Eryl Davies for this pioneer overview and analysis of the Conference's context, development and significance, which draws not only on his extensive research, but also on his first-hand experience of this crucial - if controversial - Conference."
-- Professor E. Wyn James, School of Welsh, Cardiff University

"In this absorbing study, Dr. Eryl Davies has provided us with a vivid insight into the role played by the great preacher Martyn Lloyd-Jones in developing evangelical thought and practice in post-war Wales…This volume affords a fascinating glimpse into the stresses as well as the achievements of twentieth and twenty-first century Welsh evangelicalism. It is an admirable contribution to our understanding of recent Christian history in our land."
-- D. Densil Morgan, Professor of Theology, University of Wales Trinity Saint David
