Book Description:

The Bible Study Workbook takes you on a journey deep into the Psalms.

Designed for adult Christians who wish to take their time meditating on Christ's poetry, the Workbook will have you thinking about Christ's Psalms for about 25 minutes a day, five days a week, for thirteen weeks. Think of it as a lingering soak for your soul in the Word of God. It's ideal for group Bible study but also perfectly suitable for you on your own or with a good friend.

How does it work? First, you'll need a Bible in hand and be ready to flip through the Scriptures consulting other passages. Second, you'll be encouraged to begin and end each day's study with prayer. And then you dive into the questions which are set up to guide you in understanding the psalm (sometimes a pair of them) by searching Scripture for the background, or key words, or similar teaching elsewhere. Day 1 has you exploring the wider context of the psalm while Day 2 will help you observe its details and what significance they may hold. On Day 3 you will unpack the author's meaning and then on Day 4 see more pointedly how Christ is revealed. Day 5 brings it all to a conclusion by focusing on how the message may bring change to your perspective, attitude, and lifestyle as a follower of Christ.

The theme of the Bible Study Workbook is: "Christ our Teacher." Scripture teaches that the Messiah was anointed into the triple office of prophet (or: teacher), priest, and king. As our great Teacher, Christ in the Psalms instructs us in God's salvation, including the way we are to live as God's redeemed people. The Workbook will take you through 16 mostly wisdom-styled psalms to let you clearly hear the voice of our great Prophet/Teacher and consider his marvellous salvation. The Lord willing, the other two offices will be explored in forthcoming workbooks.
